AAron,

Yes, that is the one.
http://www.miracleedu.com/home.html
You have to go to the section on English Training to find more specific information. It's funny that months ago when I applied the site said it was based in San Francisco, but it now says it's based in Beijing.

I agree with you that it would be great to cut out the middleman, but these types of organizations do seem to be helpful in connecting teachers and students and in taking care of the financial end. Of course, with Skype etc. and PayPal, I'm sure you could actually do it yourself!

Hi Maryanne - so nice to hear from you again!

Are you talking about this site?
http://www.miracleedu.com/home.html

With the internet, I think we'll to see more and more P2P interaction and fewer "middlemen" throughout all institutions in society - interesting times indeed!

Cheers.

Aaron,

Thanks for posting about this new trend. I had already joined a group called Miracle Education which seems to aim to do the same thing. However, the difference in time zones and the fact that I'm in the process of moving have prevented me from really trying it out. Providing a means for teachers and learners to meet, negotiate and interact in cyber space is a great concept.
