English Conversations Returns

After an almost four month break, Mark and I have fired up English Conversations again with a few podcasts on Africa. Our hope is that learners of English as a second or foreign language will listen to the recordings of the conversations and use the transcriptions (with links) to learn new expressions, vocab, patterns of speech, etc. Equally as important are the many themes that the of the conversations cover, such as skin color, apartheid, greed, American history, Thai and Japanese culture, feminism, etc. We hope to feature more oral histories and interviews with people from a variety of different cultures and of different religious traditions.

Sounds interesting - would you want it added to the wiki page on podcasting? that page still needs work but there is a section for podcasts for learners.

Thanks for comments fellas. Daniel, I didn’t like the other template very much, but I think this one is better, too.

Towmoons, I live in Japan, so we are awake and asleep at basically the same time. I could interview you on Skype if you want.

EFL Geek, I’ll try helping out with the Wiki a bit once July rolls around.

    but I don’t have a skype account
can you interview me by googletalk or email??

because using skype in my university intranet is banned.

Towmoons…I think the idea would be to do an audio interview, rather than a text-based one. Why don’t you send me your contact information via email?

  9. towmoons wrote:

    i understand you.
but now i do not have so much time to prepare for the interview.
    so what about 15th, july?
that time i will be free at home.
