Talking Communities
The Global Learn Day event last Sunday was made possible through Talking Communities, an application designed to facilitate web conferencing through a combination of voice and text based chat. While there were a few minor technical glitches with a few of the Asia-based participants, it worked quite well. I was especially impressed with the convenient ‘page pushing’ feature, that is, the speaker or any other moderator can paste URLs into the main window of the interface for participants to view. This was particularly helpful as a reference to the topics being discussed. It will be exciting to see how these web conferencing packages will evolve.
Does anyone know of any open source conferencing software?
