We spent the entire class on Friday examining Manila related issues, which include:

• The importance of making a habit of writing a title *before* composing a news item or story.  Submitting a post without a title will result in an error and possible loss of the message.
• How to enable the radio comments feature.  Doing so allows visitors to comment without having to sign up as members.
• How to use ‘news departments’ to separate and organize content on the site.
• The structure of Manila and the fact that news items, stories, pictures, and gems are all in fact discussion messages.  This is important to remember when making deletions.
• How to edit the news item template.
• What is a macro?

Part of this process included examining and critiquing each learner’s website in its present state.  Students discussed with one another how they were able to accomplish what they had already done on their sites.
