Weblog Dynamics - an Action Learning Project

Friends World student, John Grillo, is on a quest to cultivate a much richer, more diverse and integrated online personal learning community.   In an effort to better understand online communities and to increase the quality of participation in his weblog, @ Home and Abroad, he has decided to employ a simple action research methodology.  He just started another weblog and is using Manila’s ‘News Departments’ feature to organize his action learning cycles throughout the semester.  He writes:

My name is John Grillo and I’ve been running a weblog on the East Asia Center domain for the past year now. I use it as a means of exposing my thoughts and ideas as I travel to different countries around the world with the help of my college, Friends World. I have been working hard to develop my site, which it titled @ Home & Abroad, but even after a year of writing I still have less than 20 regular viewers, maybe even less than 10.

To help me better understand how an online community functions I have started this site, which will serve as documentation for my study and as a base camp for my explorations into the world of weblogs.

To follow his progress, please visit his brand new research weblog, called Weblog Dynamics.  Good luck John!
