Metrosexual?
I just came across an article in the Dever Post, via Blogdex, in which it was reported that Howard Dean - the Democratic candidate for President from Vermont (whose team by the way runs a blog) - declared himself to be a ‘metrosexual’, a term meaning a straight man who is not only in touch with his feminine side, but is also a narcissist in love with himself and the city life. According to The Word Spy, the term ‘metrosexual’ was coined in 1994, making it almost a decade old. I wonder what we’d call the female version of this (a la the characters in ‘Sex in the City’)? To me it seems like it should be a gender-neutral term.
